In our house, probably the most favorite part that we favor the most is the kitchen. This is where we prepare, cook and ready the food to be served. Not only that, it is also where we hang around and talk about everything and anything under the sun together with our relatives and friends. I don’t know about you but the kitchen is one of the place that I often stay and play around when I was kid and I’m pretty sure that you did the same too when you were young. The point is, your kitchen is probably the most popular room in the house for family members, friends and as well as the guests. Now, I don’t know if it’s human nature or what, but when an area in your house is where you usually hang out, you also tend to beautify it the most. And that is only righteous. If you have ever paid attention to the television commercials you see or print

ads about kitchen cabinets, they very rarely ever talk about what the cabinet

is actually made of!!  They will sell you on the look or design of the cabinet,

but rarely ever mention what the structure consists of.  For many this may not matter… afterall it’s the outside that everyone sees. For some the price may not be worth the upgrade… while others may not be able to afford it.

Most cabinetry is in fact made with particleboard or similar pressed product but there is a difference.  This can have a HUGE

impact on the durability and life span of

your kitchen over many years.   Both particle board and plywood don’t like water but just a small leak can ruin lower grade particle board cabinets.

They are playing off emotion rather than practicality or function. Showrooms in big home improvement stores are very expensive, and costs can be burdened on the large brand name cabinet companies. The cabinets therefore must be priced accordingly! A plywood cabinet box that is not a name brand may at times price up to 50% less than a comparable particle board brand name company.
